The Tenents of Faith

What we believe...

1.  The Scriptures:

We Believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God.  The bible is our guide in all matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.

(II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21; I Thessalonians 2:13)

2.  The Godhead:

Our God as One, but eternally existent in three Persons: The Father; the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1-3; I John 5:6-8)

+ God the Father is greater than all; the Source of the Word (Logos) and begetter.

(John 14:28; John 16:28; Matthew 11:25)

+ Jesus is the Son of God, One with the Father, The Word (flesh covered), the One begotten and has existed with the Father from the Beginning

(John 1:1; John 1:14; John 1:18; John 10:30)

+ The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal

(John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7-14)

3. The Lord Jesus Christ:

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.

(I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Peter 2:18-24; John 3:16)

4.  Man, his fall and Redemption:

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.  Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works that are acceptable to God.

(Genesis 2:7; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:9-10; Matthew 1:18-25;

John 3:16; Galatians 4:4-7; I John 1:9)

5.  Ordinances of Water Baptism and Communion (the Lord's supper):

We believe in the ordinances of Water Baptism and Communion, the Lord's supper.

+ Water Baptism:  Baptism by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures.  All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized.  Thus they declare to the world that they died with Christ and are raised with him to walk in newness of life.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4)

+ Communion:  Christians observe the ordinance of the Lord's Supper in obedience to His command that we show the Lord's death until He comes.  The bread symbolizes His broken body through which we have healing and health.  The cup represents the New Covenant in His blood, which provides us wit forgiveness and relationship with God.

(I Corinthians 11:23; Mark 14:22-26; Matthew 26:26-30; Luke 22:17-20)

6.  Sanctification and Holiness:

The Bible teaches that "without holiness, no man shall see the Lord". (Hebrews 12:14).

God has provided the Grace of Sanctification "wherein we stand and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God". (Romans 5:1-3) This Grace is entered by:

+  Faith: Believing that Jesus' Blood was shed for our sanctification. (Hebrews 13:12)

+  Knowledge of the Word of God. (Truth) (John 17:17)

+  Consecrating ourselves and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit.

(Philippians 2:12; Romans 12:1-2; Romans 6:1-13; Romans 8:1-2, 13; Galatians 2:20)

7.  Divine Healing:

We believe in healing and deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privliege of all believers.

(Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:18; John 5:6-14; I Peter 2:24)

8.  Baptism with the Holy Ghost:

We believe that the full consummation of the Baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service.

(Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4,42,43; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:2,6)

9.  Resurrection of the Just and Unjust:

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life; and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

(John 5:24,28,29)

10. Imminent return of Jesus Christ:

We believe in the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

(I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 22:20; John 14:3)
